Triple Nature of Iran's Culture and its Outcomes in Religious Education

Abstract

Each society in accordance with the terms of culture that roots in tradition, history and value perspective: will  be different from other societies. "Iran’s society" due to these specific cultural factors is also an amalgam of "Ancient Iranian culture", "Islamic culture" and the "western or modern culture".  It seems that "the Iranian and Islamic" cultures so mixed together that are inseparable but can not  be connected properly with the third aspect of the modern condensation. This triple nature has been effective in various aspects of life in "Iranian individuals". This  frame  and rule governs  within education system so that it covers various aspects. In "Iran’s society" religious dimension is the most important aspect  which  is  the  result of the fusion of religion in social issues. The importance of interaction between "religion and life" by  reviews of several years of Iran’s history indicate the presence of religion in various ways in several affairs of Iranian life. Religious education with this three-folded nature confronts  some challenges . The purpose of this paper is to clarify aspects of Iranian culture and its impact on religious education. Therefore, the research questions are: 1.What are the basic elements of Iran’s contemporary culture and their  relationships?; 2.what are the opportunities and challenges for  religious education regard to this fusion of Iran's   culture? and 3.what are the principles and ways to improve the process of religious education regard to  this fusion of Iran's  culture? The research method is analytical descriptive. Accordingly, at first level the three-folded nature of "Iranian culture" will be described  and then these three aspects will be analyzed. Finally, an analysis tries to look at the principles and methods in order to meet the challenges of religious education derived.
