The present research is aimed at carrying out a comparative study of the critical instruction and education (pedagogy) from the perspective of Giroux and Habermas to be applied to modify Iran education system. The perspectives of both thinkers about pedagogy and pedagogical activities are analyzed by the comparative- analytic method to achieve the aim of the research. The findings show that although both thinkers belong to the critical school and consider emancipation as the aim of education, they recognize the way to achieve it somewhat different. These different perspectives are mostly resulted from Giroux’s post modernistic philosophical position and Habermas’ full scale defense from modernism and the project of rationalization of the world. This has fallen shadow on the nature of pedagogic elements on the mind of the two scholars. However, these different philosophical stances have not made Giroux and Habermos pedagogic views so distant from each other not to be categorized under the umbrella of critical pedagogy. Generally, in accordance with the issues like criticism, modification, dialogue and emancipation, avoiding the violence and …can include many comments and points on modifying the multi-cultural education systems such as of our country. Among those ones we can refer to the structural modification of teacher training and the concept of teaching, flexibility of content-centering and curricula, paying attention to the multi- cultural curriculum and frontiersmen (low-class and minorities of the society), internalizing the rational reasoning and dialogue ethics in the school and class by the management system, involving the competing perspectives in the dialogue simultaneously, paying attention to the language ability(competence) and mutual understanding and internalizing the leniency and tolerance attitude toward the others.
