The relationship between "music" and "education" has been debated explicitly and implicitly among ancient Greek philosophers and thinker up to now. "Adorno" is one of the philosophers of the new approach known as "cultural" which criticizes music and education. In this study, using deductive methods and conceptual analysis music from the perspective of "Theodor Adorno" discussed and its implications in education analyzed. The objectives of this study are: explaining "Adorno's philosophy of music", explaining the goals of music education from the perspective of "Adorno", explaining the objectives of music in education from the perspective of "Adorno", the principles focus on music education according to "Adorno" and the Possibilities of using "Adorno's views" regard to education in "Iran".
Research in the realm of the music philosophy suggest that "Adorno" addresses issues such as the "structure of music", “differentiation of popular music with rich music", the relationship between "music and society", "music and language", "the whole and components" and considers music as a linguistic, cognitive, ideological and insightful phenomenon not amusing which can help people in getting rid of the domination of culture and industry.
According to "Adorno’s view" about music, implications for education are: practical wisdom breeding, knowledge and awareness creating judgment breeding, social and cultural critique fostering (critical thinking), Prevention of human frustration with the domination of culture and industry, students' sense of aesthetic fostering (aesthetic education), Consequently, the principles of rationality and thinking, Social critical performance of music, emancipator music and grasp of music. Finally the musical aspects of Adorno's views For Iran’s education are listed.
